Ever been to Sparta, North Carolina? This unassuming little town (population, about 1,700) garnered some regional attention in the heat of the August summer in 2020. The most significant earthquake to hit North Carolina in 104 years struck Sparta at 8:07 a.m. on August 9th. With a magnitude of 5.1, it was felt in much of the Tar Heel State and the entire southeast. It was the second strongest quake in North Carolina history. Earthquakes aside, there is another reason to draw attention to tiny Sparta: the much-loved actor, musician, comedian, and writer, Zach Galifianakis, who is a native of Wilkesboro, North Carolina, owns a farm in here! And if that's not enough to turn your head in the direction of this small town, the Mexican food will.
Sparta has a lot to offer for a small town. But since we love food so much, we're going straight for the best Mexican restaurant in town: Mis Arados.
Since the day it opened its doors, Mis Arados has been winning the hearts and taste buds of the locals in Sparta.
To begin with, the atmosphere is bright, festive, and downright fun for the entire family.
Bring everyone... they'll make room for large parties.
Have a birthday coming up in the family?
Mis Arados is the place to celebrate!
And the food? It pretty much speaks for itself.
The menu, containing Spanish menu item names and English descriptions, caters to everyone on both sides of the border. This Chili Toreados featuring blistered peppers and more is only an example of how good the food gets.
The next chance you have to skip on over to Sparta, do it -- and be sure to check out Mis Arados.
You'll be so happy you did!
