There's a lot to love about being in North Carolina, but the views might be highest on our list. There are tons of hikes leading to spectacular mountain tops. And the simple walks through the woods are just as incredible. But, if we could combine two of our favorite things here in the Tar Heel state it would be those scenic views and...food! The only thing we love more than the state's natural landscape is the food and at this beautiful restaurant you can have both.

If you love North Carolina's river views and the incredible food here there's no better place to enjoy a meal than at River’s End Restaurant in Bryson City.

The eatery is located directly on the Nantahala River and operates as part of the Nantahala Outdoor Center. That means you can enjoy a full day of adventures and begin and end with a great meal right here.

On warmer days we love the outside patio where the views get even better. Dining out here will allow you to not only see the river, but hear it as well. This type of full sensory experience can't be found anywhere else.

And don't worry if you're inside. You won't be missing out on a thing. Watch the river flow by from a different vantage point.

We could go on and on about the views here, but what good is a perfectly situated restaurant without great food? Luckily, River’s End has that too. The meals here are hearty and filling. They've got quite a few burgers to choose from.

And if you prefer some greens, they have a great selection of salads too. This Greek salad with chicken is a good example of a dish that's both healthy and filling.

River’s End serves every meal and we highly recommend stopping in before your outdoor endeavors to enjoy their breakfast. Look at this huge plate!

Their dessert menu is also incredible. They clearly believe that anything worth doing is worth doing well, so be sure and save some room.

And if you have time after a long day outdoors, relax with a few local beers.
