When you think 'classic' American dishes, what comes to mind? For me it's burgers, fries, a hot dog, anything fried, and washing it down with a soft drink of your choice. While classic American dishes are all about some less than healthy options, one Charlotte restaurant takes them to a whole other level. Really, it'd be impossible to come up with the creations that Pinky's Westside Grill has mastered, but that's what makes it so unique.
Pinky's is a Charlotte staple and has also been featured on the Food Network show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. While it hasn't had too long in the CLT food game it's risen to prominence and worth the drive if you're not in the area.
From a quick bite, to dinner, to dessert - Pinky's is a place where more than likely you'll be unbuttoning your pants for a breather after a meal here. No judgement though, we've all been there. Each dish is infused with some Pinky's flair. Like the white trash burger pictured above that features provolone, fried onions and pickles and spicy ranch sauce.
For the hot dog lover, Pinky's is a paradise, like the Pinky Dog topped with a hearty serving of chili and pimento cheese.
On the menu the hot dogs and corn dogs are listed under 'Wiener Wonderland.' A popular item is the stray dog which includes veggie chili, mustard, slaw & onion.
Even the french fries get special treatment - like the Pimpin Fries.
You can also add bacon and chili if you're looking for a reason to treat yo self. It's worth it!
Here in the south, pimento cheese is a signature item, and Pinky's has mastered it. Try an epic grilled cheese like Da Pimp - where there's no shortage on the cheese factor.
You can still get your lettuce fix, Pinky's style, like the popcorn chicken salad that comes topped with fried onion rings.
Don't forget to grab an order of the Greg's Fried Dill Pickles served with delicious ranch sauce. This was a dish featured on Food Network and while simple packs some serious flavor.
If you think you've seen it all, Pinky's ALSO has tacos. I might need a mid-meal nap at this point.
A true staple of Pinky's are the burgers, and they don't call them 'Championship Burgers' for no reason, these are made for a king.
While this might be VERY hard to do, trust us, you're gonna want to save room for dessert. The banana pudding is out of this world!
The good news is, Pinky's also opened a second location in Huntersville so you can enjoy the delicious goodness even if you're not in the Queen City.
Huntersville location -
9818 Gilead Rd B-101, Huntersville, NC 28078
You'll find the original Charlotte location at -
1600 W Morehead St. Charlotte, NC 28208
Pinky's is TOO delicious and now I'm having insane cravings for some Pimpin Fries! Have you dined here before? What's your favorite dish to get?
