Everyone loves a gooey, cheesy pizza...and the hot summer months are a good time to go out and avoid heating up your own kitchen . We may be hundreds of miles from The Big Apple, but this little hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Asheville is serving up some of the best New York style pizza anywhere.
You'll find Favilla's Pizza at 1093 Patton Avenue, in
Asheville.
The dining room isn't fancy, but it's clean and comfortable.
Owner Andy Favilla grew up in New York City, helping out at his uncle's pizza shop as early as age eight, so he knows his pizza.
You definitely need to start with an order of garlic rolls with mozzarella and a side of sauce.
The pizza is baked to perfection. The New York style crust is thin - you'll want to roll this pizza up to eat it - and it's covered in delicious cheese.
They load up the toppings, too!
Change things up with a calzone or stromboli.
For dessert? You guessed it - New York cheesecake. Yum...
Visit Favilla's Pizza Monday through Thursday from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm; Friday and Saturday from 11:00 am to midnight; Sunday from noon to 10:00 pm.
Favilla's also has a second location at 640 Merrimon Avenue in Asheville. Check it out, too.
