Whether it's the dead of winter or the dog days of summer, pies are a universal indulgence. Depending upon the situation at hand, pies can be simply a delicious dessert after a meal. Or, at other times, pies can be the perfect answer to a screaming sweet tooth that won't give in until it's had a warm slice of pie topped with a perfect scoop of ice cream. Whatever your reason for seeking out a delectable, freshly baked pie, you'll find some of the best pies in North Carolina at the Cherry Pit Cafe and Pie Shop in Greensboro.
Known as the comfort food specialists, the Cherry Pit Cafe has a couple of display cases right inside the door that are always overflowing with pies fresh from the kitchen.
Don't expect to find ordinary pies, though. (If you want those, then go to the frozen food section of your local grocery store.) In addition to all of the favorites, the extensive pie and cheesecake menu features some hard-to-find pies, too.
From fruit pies and cream pies to specialty pies galore, the pie menu is an ideal place to start when you arrive at the cafe.
You can even sign up for a pie every month for a year for one low price. Now that's a deal!
But pies aren't all you'll want to indulge in at the Cherry Pit Cafe and Pie Shop. The cafe is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week with a menu that includes some traditional favorites and some hearty surprises.
Stop in for breakfast (and a slice of pie, of course) and start your day off right. Or...
Plan a meal later in the day (with pie, of course!). The menu includes 10 off-the-charts burgers, including the Big Tex Burger shown here with sweet potato tater tots. You'll also find salads, wraps, and more... perfect for pairing with — you guessed it — pie!
Speaking of... Are your taste buds screaming for pie right now? We feel ya.
The Cherry Pit Cafe and Pie Shop is located in the North Elm Village Shopping Plaza. It's open seven days a week: Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Learn more from the cafe's official website and check out what's new on their Facebook page.
