You may not have thought about hanging out on one of our city's rooftops in quite some time, considering the fact that winter has left Buffalo coated in snow and shivering cold for the last few months. We don't blame you! Now that the temperatures are beginning to rise and we're getting ready for the warmer seasons, there's never been a better time to plan out which elevated views to take advantage of this year. Bringing you up above it all, check out this list of incredible rooftop bars within the Queen City.
1. Tappo Restaurant - 338 Ellicott St., Buffalo, NY 14203
This last winter, we talked about the cool igloos situated on top of Tappo Restaurant on Ellicott Street. Well, now that things are warming up, prepare to enjoy the beautiful views from the rooftop patio! From shaded tables to the city views, this may be our favorite rooftop spot in the Queen City.

2. VUE Rooftop at Curtiss Hotel - 210 Franklin St., Buffalo, NY 14202
At the very top of one of Buffalo's pristine hotels, VUE Rooftop is one of the most breathtaking rooftop bars that you just can’t miss. Illuminated with neon lights for everyone in the city to see, you can relax by the fire or hang out by the bar with a drink in your hand at VUE. The rooftop bar opens up at 5 p.m. on Tuesday through Saturday all year long, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to experience this magical setting.

3. Soho Buffalo - 64 West Chippewa St., Buffalo, NY 14202
Soho Buffalo has been a Queen City favorite for 20 years now, and with a rooftop bar as amazing as this, it’s not hard to see why. The fantastic views of the city around you will blow you a way, and there’s plenty of seating up here - both at the bar and at roomy tables - so it’s always an energetic spot to be. Bonus: Soho Buffalo serves spiked milkshakes! What’s not to love?!

4. The Steer Restaurant - 3151 Main St., Buffalo, NY 14214
Once things warm up here in Buffalo, the multi-level outdoor spaces of Steer Restaurant open up for all to enjoy. At Steer Restaurant, you can choose to dine outside on the street-level patio or head upstairs to their rooftop bar that overlooks Main Street. Steer Restaurant is another longtime Buffalo favorite and is open every day of the week, though the rooftop bar is particularly popular on weekends.

If you're looking for a rooftop experience in Buffalo that is as lively as it is lovely, Sky Bar on Franklin Street is the place to be. Open on the weekends during the warmer months, you can expect to find drinks flowing, music playing, and plenty of dancing up here on this Queen City rooftop.

6. Buffalo Proper - 333 Franklin St., Buffalo, NY 14202
That's right, we have one more stop for you to make along Franklin Street! While Buffalo Proper may not technically be a rooftop bar, it’s close enough and we think it’s worth sharing this option with you too. Once the warmer weather arrives, the upstairs balcony of Buffalo Proper opens up and makes for a fantastic place to hang out. Though not quite outside, the wide open windows certainly make it feel like you are! With a drink in hand and views of the city, Buffalo Proper is worth keeping in mind.
