Sometimes you just need to tip back a cold one on a warm evening. When the mood strikes, it's always best to be prepared! With the boom in Buffalo's restaurant scene, it should come as no surprise that the local patio options are nearly endless this time of year. But even better than patio dining is beer garden drinking. Here are eight of our favorite beer gardens around Buffalo that you'll never want to leave.
1. Hydraulic Hearth
Colorful seating. Lawn games. Cold drinks. Brick oven pizza. Could a beer garden experience get any better? We think not! Hydraulic Hearth is one of our favorite go-to spots for spring and summer entertainment and dining.
See what the fuss is all about for yourself: 716 Swan St., Buffalo.
2. RiverWorks
We've mentioned our love for Riverworks before, and while this is, in fact, the ultimate waterfront destination, it's also a great spot to hang outdoors with a beer (or four). Sit under the interesting concrete structures at the RiverWorks beer garden for a truly unique Buffalo experience.
Head on over: 359 Ganson St., Buffalo.
3. Resurgence Brewing Company
If oversized Jenga, cornhole, and house-brewed beers sound like a good time to you, we highly recommend Resurgence Brewing Co. Whether you sit indoors or enjoy the scenery outside, you're almost guaranteed to have a good time at this local brewery.
Set your GPS and go: 1250 Niagara St., Buffalo.
4. Hamburg Brewing Company
If you're not a city dweller or want to get outside the hustle and bustle a bit, head to Hamburg to enjoy some R&R. The Hamburg Brewing Company offers delicious food, great craft beers, and an impressive ambiance both inside and out. Their beer garden has plenty of elements to enjoy: fire pits, a pond, and garden plants surround you as you sip!
Check it out in the Southtowns: 6553 Boston State Rd., Hamburg.
5. 42 North Brewing Company
A bit further outside the City of Buffalo lies 42 North Brewing Company. This spot is a newcomer on the brewery scene, but don't let their lack of age sway you! 42 North pours some of the most delicious brews around and their beer garden is certainly deserving of a spot on this list.
Don't just take our word for it. Make the trip yourself to 25 Pine St., East Aurora.
6. Rusty Nickel Brewing Company
Rusty Nickel Brewing Company is nestled in West Seneca and if casual hangs are up your alley, this is certainly a great spot for you! Enjoy the rustic tasting room, beautiful beer garden, and unique craft beers at this favorite local hangout.
Find Rusty Nickel Brewing Co. at 4350 Seneca St., West Seneca.
7. Dish at Canalside
You didn't think we could make it through this list without mentioning Canalside, did you? While known for its family-friendly environment, Canalside also offers up great entertainment options for the 21+ crowd. The Dish at Canalside has a spacious beer garden that's open seasonally.
Dish is located on the boardwalk near the corner of Prime St. and Perry St.
8. Gene McCarthy's
Last but certainly not least, Gene McCarthy's is basically a local legend when it comes to beer gardens. This Irish pub is located in the Old First Ward. Hop out back to enjoy great beer and even better company in the spring and summer!
Find Gene McCarthy's Old First Ward Brewing Company at 73 Hamburg St., Buffalo.
