If you feel like going to get a great craft beer this summer, you don't have to leave the dog at home—at least not at the Cooperstown Brewing Co. in Cooperstown, New York. The brewery has a great selection of house made beers and food on hand, and they are very welcoming to dogs. In fact, the Brewery's Facebook page features plenty of pictures of K9's hanging out! It's the best dog-friendly brewery in New York.
Cooperstown Brewing Co. is technically located in Milford, which is just outside of Cooperstown proper. It was founded in 1995 and leans into Cooperstown’s legacy as the home of the Baseball Hall of Fame.
According to the Cooperstown Brewing Company website, some of the brewery's favorite customers are dogs! Dogs must be leashed at all times.
A good deal of the beers and merchandise at the brewery are tied into baseball in one way or another.
The brewery used to be the home of the Haight Cheese Company, which was known for making “Pine Apple Cheese." After being unwrapped, it looked exactly like a pineapple. Nowadays, the brewery's beer menu includes a nice mix of IPAs, stouts, pilsners and more. On the food side, there is a selection of pizzas and burgers.
The brewery uses a 20-barrel brewing system built by Peter Austin Partners from Ringwood, England. The system uses traditional brewing practices to make great tasting ales. The brewery’s original bottling line has history, too: it was bought from Sam Adams Brewery.
If you forgot to bring a water dish for your dog, Cooperstown Brewing Company can provide one.
If you are in the Central New York State area and you are looking for a great place to drink a handcrafted beer and enjoy a bite to eat while also enjoying the companionship of your dog, Cooperstown Brewing Company is an excellent option.
