Cannoli might just be the best dessert on the planet. They’re the perfect combination of crunchy and creamy to satisfy your sweet tooth, and there’s one humble little joint in New Orleans that makes the absolute best cannoli in the world. Let’s take a look.
Angelo Brocato’s has been delighting New Orleanians with their tasty treats for over a century.
Located in Mid-City, this family owned and operated ice cream parlor has been a New Orleans tradition since 1905.
When you walk in to the parlor, you’ll be hit with a wave of nostalgia.
The pink walls and the charming tables will definitely give you 50’s flashbacks.
This is the place to go when you’re in the mood for gelato or other Italian desserts.
Their gelato is made in-house using the finest ingredients, both local and imported from Italy. This stuff is the real deal, y'all.
Can’t decide on what flavor to get? Try their spumoni.
This colorful wedge of gelato contains tutti frutti, lemon, and pistachio almond flavors and it’s topped with a sweet almond whipped cream.
But you can’t leave the store without trying a cannoli. They're famous for them.
The techniques and recipes that founder Angelo Brocato learned in Sicily have been passed down from generation to generation, and are still used today in their shop! Everything is made from scratch, from the ricotta cheese filling to the shells.
These flaky Italian desserts are stuffed fresh to order, so you never have to deal with a soggy shell.
They come in regular or miniature size, and you can order them individually, or by the dozen. They are filled half-chocolate, half-vanilla, and then dipped in pistachio nuts and topped with powdered sugar and cinnamon. Yum!
You can find Angelo Brocatto's at 214 N Carrollton Ave, New Orleans, Louisiana 70119.
