There's no denying that the beer scene in New Hampshire – and in New England at large – has really blown up over the last few years. It's taken drinkers along with it – for many of us, craft beers are now far more appealing than the mass-market stuff we happily consumed for years. Whether you're a diehard beer snob or a casual aficionado, there's an event coming up in just a couple of weeks that you won't want to miss.
Every year, dozens of brewers from New England bring their creations to Loon Mountain for the New England Brewfest, a beer festival with views like no other. This year is the 14th annual event, and it runs from 3–8 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2018.
Breweries from the massive (Sam Adams) to the tiny (Tuckerman's) send reps to this event, and they're all happy to chat with you about their beers and of course, share plenty of samples.
You won't go hungry, either – there are plenty of snacks for sale at this event!
There's great live music ever year — it's tough to pull yourself away from the performances to get your refills (but we think you'll manage). This year, the fantastic Jonathan Sarty Band is headlining.
Bring a lawn chair and a group of friends and you're sure to have a perfect summer evening – after all, what's better than good music and conversation accompanied by delicious brews?
Of course, you can't leave the event without a memento! Luckily, the official tasting glass is included in the price of your admission ticket.
The New England Brewfest takes place on the slope outside the Governor's Lodge at Loon Mountain, 60 Loon Mountain Road. Lincoln, NH 03251, from 3–8 p.m. on June 23. Tickets are $45 per person, with a $25 option for designated drivers. This event is 21+ only! For more details and to purchase tickets, visit the event's website or Facebook page.
