It's not hard to enjoy the surroundings when eating in the Granite State. We do have some of the most inspiring nature in the region, afterall. But, you can't spend all your days on the trail. And when hunger strikes, we're also lucky to have some of the best restaurants in New England. While the food is why we go out to eat, it doesn't hurt when the views are top-notch. To combine the best of both, head to these spots.

1. The Ledges, North Conway

Part of the White Mountains Hotel and Resort, The Ledges Restaurant has been providing both views and delectable meals for years. If you're a guest you eat breakfast for free, but you'll love the romantic dinners made with locally grown food as well. They're located at: 87 Fairway Dr., North Conway / 603-356-7100.

2. Schilling Beer Co., LIttleton

This European-inspired small-batch brewery is great for stopping in or a few beers. But, you'll definitely end up staying for a while for the food and the views of the Ammonoosuc River. 3. Walter's Basin, Holderness

Great for both large parties and intimate dinners, a meal at Walter's Basin means lakes views and Loon calls. Get the lobster roll, but people also rave about the prime rib with mashed potatoes. They're located at: 859 US Route 3, Holderness / 603-968-4412.

4. The Little Red Schoolhouse, Campton

Despite the fact that this little hideaway is located in the woods, they're known for hearty seafood meals. The lobster roll, the fish sandwich, and anything fried is the way to go! Visit them at: 1994 US Route 3, Campton / 603-726-6142.

5. Polly's Pancake Parlor, Sugar Hill

We've been mentioning this place a lot lately, but we just can't help it. Especially when we're thinking about where to eat on a weekend. Head here for huge, fluffy 'cakes with the best country views you can find. Visit them at: 672 Route 117, Hildex Maple Sugar Farm, Sugar Hill / 603-823-5575.

6. Lakeside Deli & Grille, Meredith

From the outside you might just think this is a regular sandwich joint, but inside things are cozy and delicious. From soups to salads to overpacked sandwiches, you'll almost not even notice the incredible lake views. Find them at: 2 Pleasant St. / 603-677-7132.

7. Mount Washington Hotel & Resort Dining Room, Bretton Woods

Stunning views of the mountains plus all that mountain air mean the best meal you'll have in the area. Pair it with an overnight stay for something extra special. Visit them at: 310 Mount Washington Hotel Rd., Bretton Woods / 800-258-0330.

8. Harvest Tavern, Whitefield

Views of the mountains might make the food taste even better, which is hard since the meals here are already incredible. The service is said to be great and it's comforting and homey. Visit them at: 101 Mountain View Rd., Mountain View Grand, Whitefield / 866-645-7547.

9. Rainbow Grille & Tavern, Pittsburg

Enjoy the cozy bar before heading in for a dimly lit dinner. But, if it's the views you've come for (and we know you did) you'll want to try breakfast! French toast, bacon, eggs?
