Things felt simpler back then. No social media and perhaps a little more kindness, the lives that people led 50 years ago were very different from what we've got now. And, while we're happy to have a lot of what exists today, there's always something nice about going back and reliving the old days. One fun way to do that is at this 50s-themed diner in Tilton.
The Tilt'n Diner, located in Tilton, has been serving delicious diner food with an awesome 50s theme since 1993.
As soon as you walk through the door, you'll feel transported to this epic decade!
From the bar stools at the counter to the decor and ephemera placed along the walls, the feeling is one that folks who lived through the 50s will certainly remember.
We love the vintage feel, but it's the homey-nature that keeps us coming back.
Oh, and of course the food!
Portions are huge - especially breakfasts.
And everything is made-to-order, including their perfect omelets.
Go with a group and make sure to share!
Or, head there for dinner for a meal that will send you home with leftovers.
Tilt'n is located near the Tanger Outlet Center. You'll also want to stop by en route to Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire International Speedway and Loon Mountain.
New outlets always mention the diner as a place for Presidential candidates to stop while campaigning in the most important state. So, time your trip appropriately and you might just run into someone famous!
The Tilt'n Diner is located at 61 Laconia Rd., Tilton, New Hampshire. They're open Sunday through Thursday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Friday and Saturday they're open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. You can check out their website here or visit them on Facebook. Or, give them a call on 603-286-2204.
It might be more modern, but another great place for eats in New Hampshire is this bakery with over 70 different varieties of cupcakes on the menu!
