Located inside Las Vegas' Bellagio Hotel on the Spa Tower promenade is Jean Philippe Patisserie—an amazing candy shop and the home of the world's largest chocolate fountain. This 27-foot tall kinetic masterpiece circulates almost two tons of melted chocolate at an amazing rate of 120 quarts per minute. Take a look and try not to get hungry.
This fountain was designed by award-winning Executive Pastry Chef Jean-Philippe Maury along with Norwood and Antonia Oliver Design Associates, Inc. It took nearly 18 months to plan and design.
This stunning visual and amazingly aromatic work of art circulates more than 2,100 pounds of melted dark, milk, and white chocolate thru 500 feet of pipes 24 hours a day.

The fountain begins with six spouts in the ceiling from where the three types of chocolate stream through 25 intertwined and suspended glass vessels.
These aqua-colored glass vessels are 1/2-inch thick, precisely-yet-irregularly shaped, and anchored by cables. The chocolate streams flow here and there in a mosaic pattern.
The chocolate is melted to 120 degrees Fahrenheit which enables six pumps to transport the melted chocolate back to the top of the fountain through two-inch diameter, stainless-steel pipes that are hidden inside the shop's walls.
Another series of pipes contains hot oil to maintain the chocolate's temperature to keep it flowing freely through the fountain. Over 500 feet of double pipes help the chocolate make its continuous journey.
Perhaps the only negative about this amazing fountain is that it is a treat for the eyes and nose only. While there is no tasting allowed, Jean Philippe's is chock full of amazing confectionery delights. Why We Love It: It's taken several trips for me to figure out my perfect "weekender bag that's TSA approved," but I've found my perfect carry on with the TOBIQ Colorado 30L. This Nevada old-fashioned candy store has a very uniquely "Nevadan" style to it. Greeting you out front is a gigantic sign and what looks to be a statue of a prospector looking into the distance. It may seem pretty quirky from the outside, but the best chocolate in the West is hiding inside.
The interior of what we think is one of the most modest candy stores in Nevada is stuffed to the brim with different types of candy. If you have a sweet tooth, then you will be in absolute heaven as you peruse the homemade candies.
The family-owned candy store has been in operation by three generations of candy-makers. Chocolate Nugget Candy originally started in Akron, Ohio but moved to the Washoe Valley in 1983. There's a reason this business has survived on a remote stretch of the highway for 35 years. It's because the candy speaks for itself.
The owners believe in using nothing but the freshest and finest ingredients for their candy. Here you'll find over 100 varieties of lip-smacking-good chocolate. Not to mention an entire room that's dedicated to salt water taffy! Yet another reason why this is one of the best candy stores in Nevada.
