There's nothing quite like a great taco. The places on this list aren't necessarily the most authentic Mexican places you'll find in Nebraska. They're just the places where you can get a good, hearty taco to squash that mean craving that's been bugging you. This list is in no particular order.

Located in a neighborhood where you might not expect to find a great taco, California Taco has garnered a cult following that will stop at nothing to score these tasty treats.

2. Dos De Oros, Bellevue

This food truck is parked outside of the old KFC building on Galvin Road. Its food is fresh, fast, and always served with a friendly attitude.

3. Taco De Oro, Scottsbluff

One of several favorites in Scottsbluff, Taco De Oro is always packed at lunchtime. If the locals like it, you know it has to be good.

4. El Mezcal, Norfolk and Columbus

El Mezcal never disappoints when it comes to tasty food and well-made drinks. It doesn't matter what you get here, really, because everything is amazing...but we recommend the carne asada tacos.

5. Komal Mexican Taqueria, Kearney

The taco selection here is unbeatable, and you can customize your meal with the toppings bar. Some people say this is the best taco in Kearney, but you'll have to stop in to judge for yourself.

6. La Cocina, York

Fast, friendly service, large portions, great prices, and tasty food are among the many reasons people love La Cocina.

7. Maria's, Ralston

Maria's has been around forever, and for good reason. They serve amazing food that you'll be dreaming about long after you lick the plate clean.

8. San Pedro Mexican Restaurant, Kearney

The tacos here are always on point. They may not be like anything you'd find in Mexico, but we're not going for authenticity here, remember? The taco is a thing all on its own.

9. Super Taco, Lincoln

You might have a hard time choosing just one thing from the extensive menu here...so the best solution is to come with a group and try a little of everything.

10. Taco Town, Scottsbluff

Taco Town is one of those places that people grow up with and then can never get out of their minds. Taco lovers travel from far and wide to dine on these little pockets of delicious.

11. Tacos El Pueblito, Nebraska City

Would you believe that inside this tiny, bright pink building is some of the area's tastiest home-cooked Mexican food? There isn't much seating, so when it's busy don't be surprised if there's a wait.

12. Taqueria El Rey, Lincoln

This eatery offers great tacos at reasonable prices...and isn't that what we're all looking for in life?

13. Taqueria Tijuana, Omaha

I could write a whole book just on the taquerias and Mexican restaurants in South Omaha. This one has been here a while and has built quite the reputation for being crazy tasty.

14. Cristina's Family Restaurant, Crete

Reviewers rave about Cristina's. You might not think to stop in at first since it's located in an old Sonic building which makes for a weird visual, but you'll be glad once you dig in to a big plate of tacos.

15. El Aguila, Omaha

El Aguila is one of those old-school Omaha restaurants that you really have to try at least once. The food is incredible, the atmosphere is fun, and the margaritas are always delicious.

16. La Bonita Mexican Restaurant, Scottsbluff

Scottsbluff is unstoppable when it comes to tacos. La Bonita is another favorite, earning high marks in service, flavor, and ambiance.

17. La Herradura, O'Neill

Great Mexican food in the Irish Capital of Nebraska? It's true! You'll love every variety of taco you find here.

18. Fiesta Brava, Multiple Locations

Fiesta Brava is a local chain with locations in Broken Bow, Omaha, Wayne, and West Point. Fresh ingredients and cold beer keep diners coming back over and over.

19. Playa Azul, Beatrice

Amazing tacos are really just the beginning at Playa Azul. The quick, friendly time also makes this place a favorite, and the excellent prices (on food AND drinks) is another big plus.

20. Taqueria Rosario Foods, Lexington

Visitors rave about the authentic Mexican food at Taqueria Rosario. But more importantly, they rave about the tacos specifically.

21. Tequila's Mexican Grill, McCook

A large, varied menu and big helpings are some of the favorite features named by Tequila's customers. The colorful restaurant is a fun place to spend an evening with friends or family.
