When professional pastry chef Angela Garbacz learned that she has a dairy intolerance, she was inspired to create delicious treats that everyone can enjoy.

Goldenrod Pastries opened in Lincoln in 2015, providing delicious goodies for everyone - including those with dietary restrictions.

The name of the bakery reflects the fact that it's local and inspired by the Great Plains - Goldenrod is Nebraska's state flower!

It's not always easy to find high-end baked goods that are vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, or egg-free - and when you do, they're often disappointing replicas of the originals.

But here at Goldenrod, the recipes have been specially designed to work well with alternative ingredients. That means that everyone can find the perfect sweet treat, regardless of food allergies or intolerances.

The bakery also offers standard fare for those who are able to eat the typical dairy, eggs, flour, and so forth.

Local ingredients are used whenever possible; in fact, the menu is often built around what can be procured locally. Organic eggs, grass-fed dairy, seasonal fruits and vegetables, herbs, and edible flowers are all purchased from family farms in the area.

No matter what goes into the mixing bowl, these treats all have two ingredients in common: the love and care that you can taste in every single bite.

The pastries that Angela creates in her kitchen are nothing short of wonderful. They're delicious, of course, and designed to be accessible even to people with restricted diets...
