We're serious about our burgers here in the belly of beef country. When someone suggests going out for a burger, we don't pile in the car and head to McDonald's - we hunt down the best, juiciest, most mouth-wateringly perfect patty we can find. 1. Black Oak Grill, Omaha

Voted Best New Restaurant of 2013 in the Best of Omaha contest, Black Oak Grill at Midtown Crossing serves up unforgettable American comfort food.

2. Brewburgers, Omaha

From the standard (and amazing) cheeseburger to the slightly more adventurous lamb and bison burgers, Brewburgers knows how to do a burger right. As a bonus, they offer a beer pairing suggestion with every menu item.

3. The Cellar Bar and Grill, Kearney

The Cellar gets downright playful with its half-pound fire grilled steakburgers. Some of the more exotic burger selections are the crab rangoon burger and the peanut butter and jelly.

4. Greenfield's Cafe, Lincoln

Ahhh...take a good look at that loaded burger. If you aren't drooling yet, then maybe you just don't like burgers.

5. Greta's Gourmet Deli, Lincoln

Every Friday is Burger Madness at Greta's. Don't be surprised if you get there a little late and have to contend with a line out the front door...that's how good these burgers are.

6. Honest Abe's Burgers and Freedom, Lincoln

With burger names like "Hammer of Thor," "United States of America," and "Greatest Burger Ever," you know you're in for something awesome at Honest Abe's. Be sure to check out the Parmesan Truffle Fries!

7. Peppermill & EK Valentine Lounge, Valentine

Proudly serving Nebraska beef, Peppermill gives you big-city taste with a cozy small town atmosphere. Their gut-busting Joseph Angus 3.0 was voted Nebraska's best burger!

8. Sinful Burger, Bellevue

Choose between selections named for the seven deadly sins - we recommend the Envy which comes topped with onion rings, bacon, cheddar and BBQ sauce. Or if you're feeling REALLY sinful, take the Goliath challenge: a four-pound burger plus about a pound of fries. Finish it in an hour (and keep it down) and it's free!

9 Stella's Bar and Grill, Bellevue

Stella's has long been a staple on lists of the best burgers in the state, and for good reason. Their fresh ingredients and creative add-ons let you create your dream burger. No matter what you put on it, you'll definitely be able to see why Stella's was voted Nebraska's Best Burger by the NE Beef Council and took home the Best Hamburger prize in the Best of Omaha 2014.

10. The Union Bar, Gering
