Triple Crown Bakery is located roughly a half an hour from Nashville, Tennessee, and is, in our book, one of the best places to snag a pastry in the state. Everyone writes in asking us, "What IS the best bakery in Nashville?," and we never really know what to say - mainly because the best bakery in Middle Tennessee is in Franklin and not in Nashville at all. Sweet and quaint, Triple Crown looks like it was torn straight from the movie set of, "It's A Wonderful Life," and there's nary a sweeter group of folks than the team behind the counter.
Triple Crown Bakery is locally owned and manned by the cheeriest staff this side of the Mississippi, but what really stands out when you visit this teeny Franklin-bound shop is the sense of community that wafts in with every customer that walks through the door.
Impeccably decorated in a feminine, antique-infused style, the space is small but is bursting with kind-hearted energy and delicious cakes and pastries.
Pop through the front door if its rainy or bursting with sun outside and you'll be treated like family. Snag a cup of Muletown coffee and bring your best friend, or just chat with the Triple Crown team - they're more than happy to make you one of their own.
There are various pastries available on a daily basis, but you can also call in custom orders for weddings or family functions. Decorated cookies are extremely popular, and you can choose whichever design will fit your event. Within reason, of course - but you may find yourself completely shocked at how talented this team is. Truly.
These oatmeal cream pies have us drooling...but if you're looking for something a bit more classic, we'd HIGHLY recommend their moist, dense muffins. You can't beat 'em.
You can visit for yourself at 735 Columbia Avenue in Franklin, Tennessee, just outside of the main downtown strip. The shop is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 8am to 4pm.
