Pizza tends to bring more people together than draw them apart, and here in Nashville it's no different. Whether you're a fan of a classic margherita pie or something laden with crispy meat and layered with cheese, there's something for everyone at Nashville's quietly popular Nations neighborhood hot spot, Nicky's Coal Fired. Have you been, would you go? Leave your thoughts on this fabulous local joint below, and maybe a few favorites of your own. We love you AND your pizza, Nashville!
Nicky's Coal Fired is located in the popular Nashville Nations neighborhood and has quickly become a favorite amongst West Nashvillians. Whereas the east side tends to get a lot of attention and press, we love to spend time in the sweet, slow vibe of the west.
The bright and open atmosphere makes for the perfect spot to indulge in Italian flavor fare. Pizza and pasta are available for takeout and from Postmates, but we love sitting and indulging in the beautifully designed restaurant.
Pasta is handmade fresh in the restaurant, and you can choose from one of ten seasonal pastas at any one time. The menu is dynamic and constantly changing which means you don't experience the same meal twice.
Isn't it soothing to see your pasta being made? It's an art, truly, and Nicky's doesn't mess around when it comes to creating something delicious for their patrons.
Their oven, lovingly referred to as, "Enrico," is the only coal burning oven in Tennessee. It was custom built for the restaurant and can reach 850 degrees.
Which, of course, means that your pizza is perfectly crisp while maintaining and chewy texture throughout. The pizzas do, however, tend to be on the crispier side of things, so we wouldn't expect a big mouthful of dough. They're a perfect vehicle for those lovingly placed toppings!
The patio is guest ready and perfect for a low-key hang with friends, whether it's a lazy Wednesday or a bumpin' Friday night.
If you haven't been or aren't familiar with their location, you can head to 5026 Centennial Boulevard in West Nashville, Tennessee. Hours range from 5pm to 930pm nightly, except on Fridays and Saturdays when they stretch to 1030 pm.
What goes better with a slice of pizza than a solid glass of wine...? One of the best wineries in the south is hidden right around Nashville, and it deserves a visit.
