Nashville has become quite the hot spot for foodies everywhere - and not just for our classic meat and three. We're known for pancakes and bars and brunch spots, quirky eateries with eclectic artwork and vegan menu options. Music City is an all-inclusive town, welcoming one and all to our calorie saturated city. Here are eleven restaurants you may have missed in the hubbub and they're sure to please.
1. The 404 Kitchen
This neat farm-to-table restaurant gets overshadowed by all of the great restaurants in the Gulch. Housed in a former shipping container (!) the neat space has become a top spot for celebrities (ahem - ADELE) and makes for a truly intimate, high dining experience. Their complimentary valet parking helps make a jaunt to the Gulch a little more palatable, as does the fresh and locally inspired menu. (404 12th Ave S)
2. Gojo Café and Restaurant
Gojo has been recognized multiple times in the Nashville community for its authentic cuisine and friendly staff. Traditional Ethiopian menu options are served with Enjira bread, and you can partake in an afternoon at the hookah bar, if you so wish. (415 W Thompson Lane)
3. Little Donkey Mexican Restaurant
Located in Germantown, Little Donkey is one of the best new spots to grab a taco. There's plenty of outdoor seating, televisions for watching the game and neat additions to the menu like a "Sparkling Margarita" and catfish tacos. (1120 4th Ave N #103)
4. King Market
This low-key spot is located in an Asian market in Antioch, and you'll have to weave your way to the back of the place before you find their sweet little restaurant space. Cozy, small and serving up the best Pho and pad thai in Nashville, you'll realize quite fast the drive was worth it. (1801 Antioch Pike)
5. Riverside Grill Shack
Thick cut fries and a greasy burger? Yes, please! Riverside Grill Shack is tucked away in a residential neighborhood, which means it's only the locals that get to enjoy their simple, delicious lunch offerings and salty sides. It's one of East Nashville's best kept secrets! (1000 Riverside Drive)
6. Back Alley Diner
Back Alley Diner, or "BAD", as they like to call themselves, serves up solid American comfort food for lunch and dinner. The quirky tavern is laid-back and unique, a fun spot that boasts a full bar as well as live music. (217 Arcade Alley)
7. Yeast Nashville
Home of the Czech kolache, Yeast Nashville has a breakfast pastry that swings both ways - savory AND sweet. Go for something with a fruity filling or a spicy hunk of sausage, you can have it whichever way you want. This little gem of East Nashville is one you can't miss. (805 Woodland Street)
8. Thai Papaya
You'll find dishes from Japan, Thailand AND Vietnam at Thai Papaya, a low-key Asian restaurant off of Harding. You can indulge in sushi, curries or noodles - whatever you're feeling. (321 Harding Place)
9. Otaku Ramen
Otaku Ramen is located in the Gulch, open to the public for lunch on a daily basis. Folks rave about their pork and hot chicken buns, and their ramen options are rife with an infusion of Middle Tennessee farm offerings. It's nothing but fresh at Otaku Ramen! (1104 Division Street)
10. Hot Diggity Dogs
Best for those who wish to splurge/ruin their diets/enjoy the best hotdog outside a ball park, Hot Diggity Dogs puts pretty much anything on a hot dog and its bun. Their hot dogs are imported from Chicago, and come either charred or steamed. PS: You can even get the Diggity Burger, if you're not feeling the dog side of things. (614 Ewing Avenue)
11. The Garden Brunch Cafe
The Garden Brunch Cafe has been voted as one of the best brunch spots in the city, a pretty, art-saturated space that brings a bit of light to our pretty little town.
