1. Pinewood Kitchen & Mercantile
The Pinewood Kitchen outside of Nunnelly is just an hour west of Nashville, and it's one of the best-kept secrets in the state. Their country breakfast meals are absolutely incredible and are worth the drive any day. They're only open on weekends though, so check their website for updates.
2. 1892

3. The Old School Nashville
Just 20 minutes from downtown Nashville in the community of Scottsboro, The Old School is located in a historic 1936 schoolhouse and prides itself on sustainable meals in a community environment. It's perfect for a quick escape to a rural setting. Learn more about their story on their website.
4. Readyville Mill
The Readyville Mill, just east of Murfreesboro, is a classic Southern restaurant located in a 200-year-old mill, and every inch of this place oozes rustic charm. You'll feel like you were transported back in time when you visit this country gem. Reservations are recommended but not required. 5. Nona Lisa Pizzeria
Located just a block off of the historic square in Watertown, Nona Lisa Pizzeria is known for serving up delicious pizzas, including their famous heart-shaped pizza. You can even take an excursion train from Nashville to Watertown through the Tennessee Central Railway Museum, which is a truly incredible experience.
