Alcohol in the south seems to oscillate between one of two obsessions: good whiskey and great wine. We happen to be a little bit more in love with the latter, and find ourselves constantly searching for the best wineries around the state. We came across Grinder's Switch, a beautiful winery that serves as a respite from the craziness of day-to-day life located in one of the most picturesque locations in the state. Have you been...?
Grinder's Switch Winery proper is located roughly an hour outside of Nashville, tucked away in the lush and beautiful landscape of Tennessee.
The winery is family-owned and operated, and is open seven days a week from 12pm to 5pm, barring major holidays. You can visit their original location in a hand-built log cabin. It's tucked into stunning acres and acres of forest, which makes it look straight out of a fairy tale.
The vineyard itself is just as incredible and breathtaking. You can visit the tasting room for their daily tour around your taste buds, or you can purchase a wine-themed gift from the showroom.
Come ready to enjoy the large deck and yard...plus who can leave a beautiful view like this?! It looks like a magical bit of heaven.
Feel free to pack your own picnic and lawn chair while enjoying locally made wine and your favorite eats in the heart of the country.
Wait, but how does this have anything to do with Nashville?! Not to worry, friends - you can also visit their Marathon Village location in Nashville, Tennessee, right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of city life. Tasting fees run up to $8 a person.
Would you visit, or have you been? We hear so much about Arrington just to the south of Nashville that we were so excited to come upon Grinder's Switch. We'll see you there!
You can visit another quirky part of Tennessee with a trek out to this eerie little place...
