The Tailing Loop Winery is a rustic spot on Highway 35 in Kalispell that honors the natural beauty and traditions of Western Montana.
Meredith Hanson is the owner and winemaker here, and she uses utilizes her background in Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry to customize each of her wines.
The current winery opened in early 2018. Meredith has worked hard to honor the legacy of the original proprietor, Dr. Van Kirk Nelson.
The team selects base wines produced from hand-picked red and white grapes grown in Washington, Montana, and Oregon. The base wines are transported to The Tailing Loop, where they are artfully blended, barrel-aged, and adjusted to create a unique varietal.
The wine here is affordable, creative, and irresistible.
And it's all available by the glass at the on-site wine bar.
From painting classes to live performances, it seems as if there's always something happening in the wine bar...
...and when you visit, make sure to come hungry.
The Tailing Loop Winery is always teaming up with local food trucks to serve delicious food during operating hours.
From pizza to paninis, you'll almost always find something tasty here to enjoy with your vino.
Recently, they even partnered with Bonjour Bakery & Bistro to offer an exclusive menu in the tasting room that pairs perfectly with their wines.
If you visit this summer, try a Rosé Fizz, a seasonal favorite.
That's a glass of rosé with a scoop of fresh raspberry sorbet, and it's as wonderful as it sounds.
The Tailing Loop Winery is open Wednesday through Saturday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
