There's no denying that Montana is a gorgeous state (and the envy of most of the Western U.S.). And it isn't hard to find a restaurant that offers stunning views. That being said, you won't find anything quite like Schafer's Restaurant in Bigfork. Between its gorgeous views of Flathead Lake, delicious food, and reasonable prices, it's safe to say this place is in a league of its own.
Schafer’s Restaurant is owned by Rob Wink and David May, two Montanans who love good food and a great atmosphere.
The team's passion is obvious. The ambiance here is casual, but the dining room is gorgeous.
Schafer's sits at the top of Woods Bay, overlooking Flathead Lake.
No matter where you sit, you'll notice the amazing views.
The restaurant has a perfect view of Flathead Lake, which is absolutely gorgeous in the spring and summer...
...but don't count it out in the winter.
Summer is tourist season in Bigfork, but the town is also known as Montana's winter wonderland. The lake views are equally as stunning when it's snowing outside.
But as fantastic as the views are, it's the food that keeps us coming back for more.
Luckily, the food at Schafer's is incredible. Executive chef Jeans Matheros studied French cooking in culinary school, but he is trained in all kinds of cuisines, including American.
The food is fresh, delicious, and as local as possible.
While you'll find seafood, chicken, pasta, and salads on the menu, the steaks are the main focus... and they are exceptional.
Schafer's Restaurant is open Tuesday- Saturday for dinner, and on Sundays from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. for brunch.
Wouldn't you love to dine at this very table this summer?
Dining at Schafer's is fantastic. The restaurant's website lists its full delicious menu.
