Once you've had authentic Japanese ramen, it isn't easy to go back to the instant stuff. Thankfully, ramen bars are popping up in several Montana cities, allowing more of us to taste the difference for ourselves. Missoula's Michi Ramen Bar is a prime example, offering this delicious comfort food in a sleek, modern space.
Michi Ramen Bar is located at 137 W Front St. in downtown Missoula.
It opened in 2019, and it has been a hot spot ever since.
Michi Ramen Bar was made possible by Chef Drake Doepke, who also opened SakeTome in Bigfork and Missoula.
The stunning art inside the ramen bar was inspired by Doepke's international travels. His favorite city to visit is Tokyo.
Ramen isn't the only thing on the menu here.
If you're starving, snack on edamame, fried chicken skins, or short rib meatballs.
That being said, there's no denying that ramen is the main attraction.
And with fresh, local ingredients and noodles that are made from scratch, it's pretty much impossible not to fall in love with this place.
Ramen originated in China, but it quickly found its way to Japan, where the Japanese created their own version of Chinese wheat noodles.
It's now considered the ultimate comfort food, both in the U.S. and abroad.
Michi has a long list of delicious Lake Missoula tea available, but if you imbibe, the cocktail list is pretty compelling.
There's a full bar here, so you'll have your pick of all the classics.
Michi Ramen Bar is a must-see for anyone in Missoula who happens to be craving something delicious.
Ramen is tasty in any season, but on a cold winter day, you won't find anything better.
Have you ever had ramen that looks like this? Michi is open Wednesday - Monday for lunch and dinner.
