There's certainly no shortage of delicious bakeries here in Montana, and for that we are thankful. But we firmly believe it's impossible to have too much of a good thing, especially when this "good thing" involved dozens of options for made-from-scratch sweet biscuits. The next time you're in Great Falls, check out Double Barrel Coffee House Cafe.
Double Barrel is located on 9th Avenue in Great Falls, where it has been since its 2018 opening.
Of course, Double Barrel's history goes back much farther, which you'll probably remember if you grew up in Great Falls. The cafe was open, closed for a while, then reopened and rebranded at this old Pickle Barrel building.
Inside, the cafe is cozy and comfortable, which is exactly the way the owners like it.
The team wants this to be a community gathering space and a favorite local hangout. The tasty food is just a bonus.
The food is pretty fantastic, though, especially if you're a fan of the menu's unique sweet biscuits (which are scone-like in nature, but with a more biscuit-like texture).
This is a Sugar Cookie Biscuit, and it's amazing.
The sweet biscuit menu also includes flavors like Peanut Butter & Jelly (pictured here), Mocha Chip, and Lemon Blueberry...
...and then, of course, there's the masterpiece known as the S'mores Biscuit.
And if you're craving a savory biscuit (perhaps topped with some gravy), don't worry -- they have that kind, too.
Double Barrel has a very large breakfast menu for a cafe of its size, and it's served all day.
They also offer lunch and dinner items like salads and burgers, but to be honest, it's tough to see past the epic breakfast menu.
While the last thing this place needs is another specialty to draw people in, it's worth noting that they also serve some seriously irresistible pie.
Enjoy classic flavors like Apple and Pumpkin, or sink your teeth into a scrumptious German Chocolate slice.
