Montana is beautiful in any season, but it's especially charming in the fall. And since cider is basically autumn in a glass, fall is the perfect time to visit one of our state's finest cider mills. These are a few of Montana's best spots for cider.
1. Last Chance Pub & Cider Mill, 2203 Montana Ave., Billings
At Last Chance Pub, they're all about eating (and drinking) locally and sustainably. The cider is made onsite using only Montana apples. They press apples on Wednesdays between October and March, encouraging Montanans to come watch the process.
2. Montana CiderWorks, Sula
Montana CiderWorks is a bonded winery located just outside of Darby that creates English-style ciders from Bitterroot Valley applies. Their ciders have won numerous awards and can often be found at culinary events across Montana and the rest of the Northwest.
3. Western Cider, 501 N. California St., Missoula
Western Cider is Montana's original cidery, and it's a great place to enjoy a crisp autumn day. You'll often find live music and food trucks here along with their award-winning hard cider.
4. BetterRoot, 5066 Hoblitt Lane N., Florence
BetterRoot is a beautiful rustic cidery with a sprawling orchard and an onsite sister distillery. They offer tours, tastings, and event venue rentals.
5. Lockhorn Cider House, 21 S Wallace Ave., Bozeman
Lockhorn Cider House may be located in the heart of Bozeman, but the tasting room is located in a remodeled farmhouse garage, giving it a rustic vibe perfect for fall. They specialize in crafting natural ciders that are of the highest possible quality.
Sipping on cider is the perfect way to embrace fall. In fact, it should definitely be part of your ultimate fall bucket list.
