Hamilton may only be about 45 miles south of Missoula, but it feels light years away from any big city. This quiet, peaceful place is dripping in small-town charm, and it's a great place to visit. There's even a hidden gem of a cafe that has food so full of flavor, you'll wonder what it's doing in small-town Montana. But the cafe's passionate owner knows that's exactly where it belongs.
For several years, Cherry Street Cafe had a (tiny) spot in The Mill.
The new location can be found at 225 Main Street, on the corner of Third and Main.
It all started when owner and chef Lorrayne Tyler moved to Montana and decided to open a cafe.
Tyler loves big, bold flavors, which she wasn't having the easiest time finding in the Northwest. Once known as the "crepe lady" at local Farmers Markets, she now has an established following at her cafe.
The menu features flavors from around the world, although the ingredients are sourced locally whenever possible.
The menu has an array of crepes, sandwiches, wraps, tacos, and noodle bowls available.
Recently, the cafe debuted a "create your own bowl" option that has been extremely popular.
Stop in and choose a protein, veggies, a sauce, and up to three tasty toppings. These can also be made into wraps.
If you'd like a healthy start to your day, the smoothies here are out of this world.
They're made fresh from whole foods and have no added sugars.
Of course, everyone needs a treat now and then, and you'll also find dessert crepes and cookies in the cafe.
There aren't many breakfast options in Hamilton, but once you see the menu here, you won't want to go anywhere else.
Since the cafe is a small operation, hours may vary by season and need.
Their current hours are listed as Tuesday - Saturday from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m., but you may want to call first if you're considering making a trip.
