If there's one city in Montana that knows how to whip up a great brunch, it's Bozeman. Home to a plethora of spots ready to cook you a morning meal, deciding where to dine here is no simple task. But today, we'd like to make things a little easier on you by suggesting the Cateye Cafe — this cool, kitschy eatery will steal your heart.
Cateye Cafe sits just off Main Street on North Tracy Avenue, where it's open for breakfast and lunch daily.
The owners, Tina and Kevin Caracciolo, try to make it a welcoming place for everyone. Both of them have a passion for cooking, and Kevin has been working in the restaurant industry since he was 16.
Tina and Kevin want you to enjoy your time here, but there are some (rather quippy) rules an expectations.
The Cateye Way includes gems like 'Ask for water if you want it,' 'Finish your coffee," and 'No camping' (meaning if you're finished with your meal and there's a line at the door, you should get on with your day and let someone else sit).
So how's the food here, you might be wondering?
In a word: Fantastic. There's a reason this place is so popular.
The breakfast menu begins by listing the items that made the place famous, like breakfast sandwiches and biscuits and gravy.
Needless to say, this place doesn't scrimp on their portions.
Breakfast is served all day at the Cateye. But if you'd rather have lunch, you'll have plenty of options.
The salads, sandwiches, soups, and burgers are divine.
Although the couple's love of cats is apparent when you look around, they keep their own adorable kitties at home...
...but you're welcome to buy some cat-themed swag.
One of the best parts of dining here is ordering from the delicious mimosa list, which is popular for both breakfast and lunch.
But one of the rules here cautions guests against drinking too much and driving — you'll be in big trouble with Kevin if you do.
The next time you're in Bozeman, give the Cateye a try.
Not only is the food delicious, but the ambiance is unbeatable.
