If there's one state that knows its home cooking, it's Montana. While most of us do enjoy trying new things, if we're given the choice, we'll take a good old-fashioned hearty meal that seems like it was cooked in our family kitchen.
Luckily, you'll find Mom & Pop restaurants all over Montana, in both our small towns and our larger cities. And specifically, anyone who has ever tried The Buffalo Cafe in Whitefish tends to agree that it is THE place to go for a home cooked meal served with a smile.
The Buffalo Cafe first opened in the summer of 1979 in Big Fork.
A few years later, owners Charlie and Linda packed up and moved to Whitefish before the birth of their first son.
Today, over 30 years later, the same family still owns and operates the cafe.
Charlie and Linda have worked hard to ensure that this is a wonderful place to come for a homecooked meal.
The menu sometimes changes, but the way the food is cooked never does.
You can eat here knowing your food is made fresh.
The Buffalo Cafe has won numerous awards, including a few for Best Burger.
This is the Snow Ghost Burger, and it's as amazing as it looks.
