If you've ever driven through Western Montana or taken a lengthy road trip, there's no doubt you've heard of Montana's largest gift shop and most one-of-a-kind attraction. The 50,000 Silver Dollar Bar has changed names a few times for accuracy (there were once just 10,000 silver dollars), but it's still the same quirky, delightful place. This one-stop-shop is home to Montana's largest gift shop.
You'll find the 50,000 Silver Dollar Bar just off I-90 in Haugan.
It all started in 1952, when Gerry and Marie Lincoln started collecting silver dollars. The shop is still owned by the same family (now in its fourth generation), and they're still collecting silver dollars.
The coin collection is displayed prominently throughout the on-site bar and along the walls of the family-friendly restaurant.
While the food and the drinks here are quite tasty, the silver dollar collection alone makes them worth visiting.
But, more than anything else, it's the massive gift shop that brings in the crowds.
It's funny, charming, quirky, and fascinating all at once.
From locally made jewelry and unique clothing to Montana tourist swag, you'll find a little bit of everything here.
If you need to find the perfect gift for someone special, look no further.
With over 5,000 square feet of retail space to explore, you'll want to spend plenty of time browsing while you're here.
This is far from your average souvenir shop.
Not only will you find something for every age group, you'll see both Montana-made treasures and imports from around the world displayed here.
You'll find things you didn't even know you needed.
While the same can't be said for the merchandise, the jokes here are always free.
However, we don't recommend trying to mess with the coin collection.
