You can find the world's best dessert right here in St. Louis! Ted Drewes has been serving frozen custard and their signature concretes for over 80 years, and this iconic shop is a destination stop for St. Louisans and tourists from around the world.
The first Ted Drewes opened in 1930 on Natural Bridge Road.
Ted Drewes serves a rich and thick frozen custard created right at their store. They are known all over the world for their concrete creations. For those who aren't in the know, a concrete is frozen custard blended with toppings into a frozen treat so thick that you can turn your cup upside down and it stays put!
When you visit Ted Drewes you will see many people flipping their concrete cups and testing it for themselves.
It certainly lives up to its name!
You can choose from more than 30 different toppings, including Cindermint, Tedads, and Big Apple for a one-of-a-kind concrete.
The frozen custard is so thick the spoon stands up in the cup!
Even on the hottest days of a St. Louis summer the thick frozen treats here don't melt in your hands!
Your frozen dessert treat always starts with their amazing frozen custard.
You can have frozen custard in an ice cream cone or cup. Or you can choose a concrete, malt, shake, sundae, float, or ice cream soda.
Ted Drewes has been featured on many television shows, but St. Louisians already knew how great they are.
Another longtime tradition of Ted Drewes is their Christmas tree lot. Only in St. Louis do frozen custard and Christmas combine! There are two Ted Drewes locations in St. Louis, but the South Grand location has closed for the season. The Chippewa location is open everyday with varying hours and is located at 6726 Chippewa St., St. Louis, MO 63109.
