St. Louis is known for great food and regional favorites not found anywhere else. We also love a good festival. Festivals featuring food as the main attraction are a home run! Below are festivals that have been doing it right for 25 years, as well as new festivals venturing into unknown gastronomic heights. Read below to make your food festival plans.
1. Taste of St. Louis
This epic event features more than 30 local restaurants, live music, a kid's kitchen, and a culinary competition of the best local chefs. Going strong for 12 years, Taste of St. Louis has raised and donated more than $480,000 to charities across the region. Chesterfield Amphitheater, September 15-17, 2017.
2. Kimmswick Apple Butter Festival
Celebrating the end of fall and all things apple, the 2017 Kimmswick Apple Butter Festival is a perfect way to say goodbye to fall. Apples take center stage at this festival but there is no shortage of full dinner options. With vendors from all over the area, music, and demonstrations of how apple butter is created, this event is a full day of fun. 2017 Kimmswick Apple Butter Festival, October 28-29, 2017, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
3. Italian Fest
For 25 years the Italian Fest has been celebrating Italian food, and the traditions of the Italian people who settled Collinsville, Illinois. Of course the food offered is amazing, but you can also stomp grapes, join the Bocca Ball Tournament, watch the parade, and much more! Uptown Collinsville, Illinois, September 15-16, 2017.
4. STL Square Off Pizza Festival
The first ever Pizza Square Off features eight local pizzerias, each vying for top square. And where better than the Hill to host this event?! Berra Park on the Hill, 5400 Shaw Blvd, Saint Louis, MO 63110, October 8th, 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
5. Festival of Nations
The International Institute's Festival of Nations features more than 40 ethnic food booths from all over the world. Celebrating all cultures, this free event is non-stop food, dancing, music, and fun. Tower Grove Park, August 26-27, 2017.
6. Alton Food Truck Festival
Food trucks and a festival atmosphere combine in the Liberty Bank Alton Amphitheater for four hours of great food and entertainment. Featuring 18 food trucks from around the region, this event is the place to be! Liberty Bank Alton Amphitheater, 1 Riverfront Drive, Alton, Illinois, Saturday, August 26, 2017, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
