Eating challenges are not for everyone, but if you're a big eater, you might want to try getting some free food. All of these places offer challenges of various price points, some with time limits and some without, but all with the reward of getting it all free. Good luck!
1. Crown Candy Kitchen, St. Louis, Malt Challenge
If you can drink 5 malts in 30 minutes, you get them all for free. Can you say, "BRAIN FREEZE"? Located at 1401 St. Louis Avenue.
2. Stadium Grill, Columbia, The Hail Mary Challenge
5 pounds of beef topped with bacon, pulled pork, three cheeses, onion rings, and fried eggs, all served with a pound of fries. Challengers have one hour to finish, and winners are rewarded with the $49.99 meal for free, as well as a $50 gift card each month until another challenger wins, up to one year. Located at 1219 Fellows Place.
3. Mama Campisi's, St. Louis, The Mama's Challenge
A large bowl of spaghetti is served with a giant meatball for $24.99. If you finish it, you get the meal for free as well as a free t-shirt (and maybe a little heartburn). Located at 2132 Edwards Street.
4. Pointer's Delivery, Richmond Heights, Pointersaurus Pizza
The 28-inch Pointersaurus pizza weighs 10 pounds and includes two meat and four veggie toppings. Two people have an hour to finish it, and if they do they not only get it for free, but also receive $500 in cash. Located at 1023 S Big Bend Boulevard.
5. Fiddler's Fish House, Dexter, Man vs. Fish
20 Catfish fillets, a pound of fries, a pound of baked beans, a pound of hush puppies and a pound of coleslaw, as well as a gallon of water make up this challenge. The goal is to beat the current record, and if you do, it's all free. Located at 1104 W Business 60.
6. The Rooster Bar and Grill, Springfield, Slider Eating House Record
This challenge involves breaking the current record of the number of sliders you can eat in 30 minutes. If you break the record, it's free. This challenge happens every Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. Located at 2025 W Sunshine Street #104.
7. Carriage House Restaurant, Springfield, World's Biggest Omelet
The World's Largest Omelet consists of 15 eggs, green pepper, onion, tomato, ham, sausage and bacon served with 2 orders of hash browns and 2 orders of toast. If you can finish it all in 30 minutes it's free! If you can't, it will cost you $19.99. Located at 1537 N Glenstone Avenue.
8. Habaneros, Lee's Summit, 747 Burrito Challenge
This burrito is 2 feet long and weighs 5 pounds. It is filled with beef, chicken, pork, refried beans, rice, and mixed cheeses topped with red sauce, cheese, lettuce, tomato and scallions. If you finish in 30 minutes, the $18.95 meal is free and you also get a t-shirt and your name and picture in the "Mission Accomplished Hall of Fame." Located at 1008 SE Blue Parkway.
9. T's Redneck Steakhouse, Lebanon, Redneck Challenge
The Redneck Challenge involves eating a 5 pound pork chop, dinner salad, roll, and choice of potato. If you can finish it all in an hour, it's free. (If not, it'll cost ya $49.99) You must give them 24 hours notice if you want to try this challenge. Located at 221 Evergreen Parkway.
10. Buckin' Bull Saloon, Canton,
The Big Burger Challenge involves finishing the five pound burger along with 3 and a half pounds of fries in 90 minutes. Finish it and it's free. Located at 306 Lewis Street.
