Sure to give your sweet tooth a much-needed fix, each shop on this list is full of tasty nostalgia, and every handmade item is definitely made with extra love by local Missourians! Whether you're gift shopping for someone special or just craving something a sweet to enjoy yourself, you'll fall head over heels for these divine chocolate havens. In no particular order:
1. The Candy Factory, Columbia
The Candy Factory has been "making fine chocolates since 1974." In fact, they can even create a custom chocolate flavor just for you!
2. Sweet Things Sweet Shop, Ste. Genevieve
Sweet Things Sweet Shop is a family owned and operated candy shop located in historic downtown Ste. Genevieve. While you'll find more than just chocolate here, you'll also find some of the best truffles in Missouri. Like... Cherry Cheesecake, Dark Champagne, Italian Cream Cake, and so many more.
3. Miss M’s Candy Boutique, Delmar Loop, St. Louis
Miss M’s provides a wide variety of specialty candies and even offers special event candy catering. We think a chocolate wedding bar sounds DREAMY!

4. Chip’s Chocolate Factory, Kansas City
This sweet gem is basically Missouri's own Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. Located on the 2nd floor of Crown Center in Kansas City, Chip’s Chocolate Factory offers over 40 different flavors of fudge and over 200 types of Swiss Chocolate treats, all made by hand and dished up in HUGE portions.. Which means you have plenty of options to choose from, no matter what your chocolate-indulging occasion! in fact, you'll even find a fudge flavor dedicated to Kansas City itself! For even more fun, you can watch the deliciousness being made or schedule a tour and chocolate tasting. How's that for a date idea? They've been in business for 32 years and were once featured on the Food Network.
5. Garza’s Goodies, Kansas City
With a new shop opening soon at in Kansas City, Garza’s Goodies Chocolates & Confections is hard at work and already has a huge following, just waiting to see what magic they whip up next.

6. Bankhead's Candies, Bowling Green
Making homemade chocolates since 1919, Bankhead's Chocolates is a delicious place to dive into some sweet goodies. They also serve a bistro lunch from spring through the fall, if you would like a little something-something in between bites of chocolate.
7. Grandma’s Candy Kitchen, Lake Ozark
Located in Lake Ozark, Grandma’s Candy Kitchen has over 20 different flavors of fudge, 40 flavors of old-fashioned salt water taffy, and many other treats including sugar-free options. You can even watch the candy being made and swoon over the free samples. Theoretically, this is supposed to make the decision-making easier...but really, it just makes it harder to choose!
8. Nonna’s Lil’ Candy Shoppe, Marshfield
This unique family-owned chocolate shop in Marshfield, Missouri offers homemade chocolates and baked goods made fresh daily. After all, chocolate is delicious in MANY different forms!

9. How Sweet Is This/Itsy Bitsy Candy Shop, Clayton
Food Network Magazine once named How Sweet Is This as the best candy shop in Missouri! That's some high praise! Bite-sized gourmet chocolates are the name of the game here, and you'll find intriguing flavors to tempt your tastebuds, like the Dark Chocolate Ginger Bites and Dark Chocolate Blood Orange Caramels. They also offer soft serve ice cream and shaved ice in the warmer months, as well as literal walls of ALL your childhood favorites.
10. Sweet Sadie Candy Shop, St. Louis
There's too many sweet things at Sweet Sadie's to list, but you're absolutely going to LOVE the Yin Yang Turtles! These alone are worth the trip.

11. Askinosie Chocolate, Springfield
Askinosie Chocolate specializes in gourmet, handmade chocolate bars made with ingredients straight from the source. In fact, browse around their website to learn about their "chocoalate origin" travels, or chat with the owners and reap the rewards over some PHENOMENAL bars of chocolate, handmade chocolate "nibs," or nostalgic malt balls. There's so much to love here! Bonus: Looking for a fabulous family activity? Askinosie even offers public tours.
12. Uranus Fudge Factory and Candy Store, St. Robert
A classic Missouri photo op stop (for hopefully-obvious reasons), Uranus Fudge Factory is also a fantastic place to grab some out-of-this-world sweets. Every flavor of fudge is made fresh daily and cut by hand. Be sure to try some Butterfinger or Blueberry Cheesecake Fudge from Uranus! Of course, even if you're not feeling in the mood for fudge, Uranus is still a pretty neat stop.
13. RJ Chocolatier, Chesterfield
For a serious taste of the fancy, RJ Chocolatier boutique has been named has been named as one of the Top Ten Chocolatiers in North America. From honey foam chocolate to hot chocolate bombs to chocolate sculptures, there's nothing this chocolate master can't create!

14. Andre's Chocolates & Confiserie Suisse (Andre's Chocolates), Kansas City
Serving Kansas City for 59 years, Andre’s Chocolates & Confiserie Suisse has been going strong for three generations, with numerous accolades under their belt. These are some of the most elegant chocolates you'll find in Missouri - almost too beautiful to eat! Their Peppermint Leaves are a true delight! But you'll also find dozens of chocolate desserts to choose from as well (after your chocolate truffle main course, of course).
15. Crown Candy Kitchen, St. Louis
Previously featured in one of our articles for their BLT sandwiches, Crown Candy Kitchen is also famous for their homemade chocolates, ice cream, and for having St. Louis’ oldest soda fountain. This local landmark has been serving the St. Louis area since 1913! Visit the Crown Candy Kitchen for hours of operation, menus, and store information.
16. Candy House Gourmet Chocolates, Joplin
As the story goes, "In 1970, an old rock tavern in the Missouri Ozarks was transformed into a quaint little candy shop." And the rest is history! Enjoy tantalizing chocolate treats crafted by hand with the same famous original recipe the shop began with.
