Small town Mississippi is home to the sweetest surprises. Case in point, Sweet Somethings Bakery. Opened just a few years back, it’s quickly grown into a local favorite - and it's easy to see why. Boasting a charming setting along with a slew of fresh-baked sweets and an on-site ice cream parlor, it's like a (sweet) dream come true. Take a look:
Laurel is a charming small town in Jones County that’s most known as the setting for the TV show, Home Town.
In recent years, the town has grown greatly. Several new businesses have opened, but the sweetest has got to be Sweet Somethings Bakery.
The bakeshop had an incredible turnout at its grand opening back in June of 2016.
And business hasn’t slowed down much since, which isn’t surprising when you step inside and set eyes on the seemingly never-ending display case stocked with, well, sweet somethings.
All made from scratch, each and every item is as deliciously decadent as the next.
Cookies, cakes, cupcakes, and fruit-filled fold overs are all part of the sweet selection.
There are homemade pies in an array of flavors, too.
Cinnamon rolls and sticky buns are also among the tantalizing offering and some of the bakery’s biggest sellers.
The sweet selection doesn’t end there, though. In the corner of the bakery, you’ll find an old fashioned ice cream parlor.
Just like the bakery, the ice cream parlor boasts an impressive variety. Choose between an assortment of ice cream flavors and several cone options.
Between its small town locale and old-fashioned digs, it just doesn't get more charming than Sweet Somethings Bakery.
Sweet Somethings Bakery is open Mondays, from 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Tuesday – Friday, from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Saturdays, from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. For more information, call (601) 340-3880. You can also visit the Sweet Somethings Bakery website or Facebook page.
