These days, you can get a sandwich just about anywhere. But if you want the best in the state, you have to head to Big Bad Breakfast in Oxford. Recently named the "best sandwich shop" in Mississippi, the diner’s hearty sandwiches include everything from standards, like BLTs, to unique creations. Bound to be among the most mouthwatering sandwiches you’ve ever eaten, a visit to Big Bad Breakfast is a must. Take a look:
Big Bad Breakfast (BBB) is located at 719 N. Lamar Boulevard in Oxford.
Though the menu is filled with a variety of delicious sandwiches, it's the breakfast sandwiches that led to BBB being named the "best sandwich shop" in the state.
The restaurant's signature Southern Belly Sandwich was specifically named.
The one-of-a-kind creation includes pimento cheese, slaw, bread and butter pickles, tomato, and bacon on toast. According to the restaurant's chef, the sandwich "fully represents the South, in all its flavors and glory."
However, this isn't the first time BBB has been recognized.
Aside from being featured in countless TV shows and magazines, BBB was included in Yahoo's "25 Best Sandwiches Across The USA" and in Southern Living's "The South’s Best Biscuit Joints."
In addition to sandwiches, the breakfast menu features plenty of other delicious options.
The all day breakfast fare includes everything from standard egg plates to signature skillets and other unique creations.
Even the sides will impress.
With options like original Grit Girl grits and Anson Mills steel cut oatmeal, deciding on what sides to order will be just as difficult as picking an entree.
Don't let the name fool you; BBB also serves lunch.
Just as impressive as the breakfast menu, the lunch fare includes burgers, sandwiches, salads, and more.
Breakfast and lunch are served all day, so no matter what time you visit, you can enjoy the meal of your choice.
But keep in mind, BBB is a local favorite and tends to get pretty crowded, so a wait is likely...but well worth it.
