1. The Malt Shop (4 Homochitto St., Natchez)

A list of classic malt shops in Mississippi just wouldn’t be complete without The Malt Shop. The Natchez gem features a menu of classics, among which, you’ll find plenty of shakes and malts that are guaranteed to satisfy your sweet tooth.

2. Pea Soup’s Lott-A-Freeze (809 Hwy 82 West, Indianola)

Opened since 1968, this "dairy bar meets Delta diner" has it all – hearty helpings of local favorites, such as fried catfish and po’ boys, along with traditional sweets, like malts, ice cream cones, and sundaes.

3. Velvet Cream (2290 Hwy 51 S., Hernando)

In business since 1947, this Hernando eatery has become famous for its soft-serve ice cream, which comes in over 100 flavors, sundaes, and milkshakes. Aside from traditional items, the menu is filled with signature creations, such as the Elvis Shake, Mexican Shake, and the Mule Slobber.
