All across the United States, there are charming diners on just about every corner of a small town or big city. They're known for friendly service and hearty meals that will fill you up for the whole day. But they're often overlooked in favor of faster options. On a busy day, that's understandable. But when you have a little more time, stepping into one of these classic eateries is a must. In Minneapolis, Minnesota, there's a little diner that only has 15 seats. But it's so worth the wait. Take a look:
Ideal Diner is a tiny restaurant in Northeast Minneapolis. It's been a landmark on Central Avenue for decades. Address: 1314 Central Avenue Northeast, Minneapolis, MN 55413.
The brick exterior of the restaurant is unassuming, but the bright neon sign will catch your eye. It's welcomed visitors since the restaurant opened in 1949.
Inside, this diner is tiny. There are only 14 seats, all lined up along the counter. It may take a while for your group to get seated, but it's 100% worth it.
As you wait for your food, your counter seat will give you a full view of the kitchen. You may bump elbows with the people next to you, but it won't matter when you get your food.
Ideal Diner serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The lunch and dinner menus are filled with burgers sandwiches served with crispy fries.
Lunch and dinner are good, but this diner is most known for its hearty breakfasts. There are many choices, including favorites like tasty eggs Benedict or simple eggs and toast.
There are even slightly more hard-to-find options, like country fried steak and biscuits and gravy.
No matter what you order, you will not be disappointed! Visit Ideal Diner Sunday through Thursday 6 a.m. to 4 p.m, and Friday 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
