Milwaukeeans are known for our brews, but we know how to get sophisticated and craft some incredible wine as well. Sit back and enjoy a glass, or a whole bottle. These seven incredible wineries are just a stone’s throw away from Milwaukee, and they're well worth the hike.
1. Cedar Creek Winery (Cedarburg)
This is arguably the Greater Milwaukee area's best winery! This family-owned winery in the quaint town of Cedarburg offers beautiful scenery upon the river while tasting a variety of wines. They have tours daily, and after you're done you can wander down the main strip of Cedarburg. What could be better?

2. Apple Works Winery (Germantown)
Located 20 minutes northwest of Milwaukee, Apple Works Winery is making a name for itself! They sit upon what used to be an orchard, and decided to stick to their roots and keep the name. Apple Works Winery is open Thursday-Sunday.

3. Pieper Porch Winery & Vineyard (Waukesha)
This family-owned winery and vineyard is located just outside of Milwaukee in Mukwonago, a town in Waukesha. Situated on 11 acres of open woods, this porched winery makes unique wines, including their zesty Lemon Wine, which is great in summer!

4. Water 2 Wine (Brookfield)
Water 2 Wine might look like a storefront from the outside, but they're a fully operating winery! They ferment on-site, and you can even create a personalized batch wine to your taste. Their wines offer lower chemical levels than most, so you can stop in for a glass (or bottle) and feel good about it, too!

5. Chiselled Grape Winery (Cedarburg)
This cute little winery shares Cedarburg with Cedar Creek. In fact, they are literally across the street from each other. This locally adored winery sits upon a 1-acre vineyard! Their wine is delicious and the chocolates they serve with their tastings are too.

6. Vines to Cellar (Port Washington)
This small-batch winery in the historic downtown area of Port Washington is great for a day trip from Brew City. This unique winery is a great place to sip on wines and learn how it's made.

7. Two Brothers Wines (Pewaukee)
This gem just a short drive west of MKE is a treasure to be had! This winery is also a vineyard as they produce all their own fruit and grapes throughout Wisconsin. They offer a solid tasting list, and some truly tasty wines. Grab a glass or a bottle, spend a day sipping, and then trek on down to Pewaukee Lake.
