Sometimes you don't need to go to a big restaurant to find an unforgettable meal. If you head to Peabody, Massachusetts, you can find a tiny diner that has been cooking up delicious homemade food for decades. What the Little Depot Diner lacks in size, it sure makes up for in taste and atmosphere. If you love diner food, you definitely have to make a stop at this fun little spot on the North Shore.
The Little Depot Diner is actually an old lunch car that was built in Worcester, Massachusetts in 1929.
It has been located in the heart of Peabody Square since 1950.
The diner only has 15 stools inside, so it is best to show up early or be prepared to wait.
Believe me, it is well worth it!
When you enter the diner, you may be surprised to find out that it has a cool rock-and-roll theme.
Movie posters, records, and rock memorabilia decorate the walls. You will likely hear some favorite classic rock songs playing in the background.
The diner focuses on comfort food and has a pretty extensive breakfast/lunch menu for such a small establishment.
The portions are hearty, so make sure to bring your appetite!
Many of the Little Depot Diner's dishes are named after popular rock songs.
"Free Fallin' French Toast," Beatles Benedicts," and Johnny Cash Hash and Eggs" are all excellent breakfast choices.
The diner also serves great omelets, pancakes, and sandwiches.
And there's even a special "Future Rock Stars" menu for kids.
While you are here, you must try the homemade Hungarian sausage.
You can have it as a side or on your eggs benedict.
