Lyndell’s Bakery has been open since 1887. That’s a little over 130 years.
It’s the oldest bakery in the state and one of the country’s oldest retail "scratch" bakeries.
Lyndell’s and is renowned for its freshly baked cakes, pies, and breads. Locals absolutely rave about this stuff.
As the bakery was actually opened before the invention of the modern automobile, they definitely have had time to perfect their recipes.
Everything is made fresh by hand each day using baking methods from generations ago.
You can delight in favorites like apricot pie, chocolate pudding pie, Italian butter cookies, raspberry crumbles, or hot cross buns.
And don’t leave without trying one of their famed lemon squares, apple pockets, or espresso bars.
As for savory stuff, they offer amazing butter rolls, corn bread, Irish soda bread, and fluffy white mountain bread.
And of course, you can also simply stop by for coffee or tea. Though it’ll be hard to resist ordering up a pastry to go with your drink.
