While it may not be on most restaurant menus anymore, grapenut custard is a classic Massachusetts dessert that harkens back to a simpler time. While some traditional Bay State taverns and restaurants do offer it, you’re more likely to find it as an ice cream flavor these days.

Ah, clam chowder. Perhaps the most iconic Massachusetts food of all, this creamy soup has been filling the belies of Bay Staters since the state’s earlier days. Everyone has their favorite recipe or restaurant for this classic dish and it’s sure to be on the menu at most seafood joints.
