The Roadside Store & Cafe is a scrumptious breakfast and lunch restaurant hidden in the rolling hills of Monterey.
It’s part of Gould Farm, a therapeutic community for people recovering from mental health challenges. Having program guests work at the Roadside Cafe is an important part of the experience.
Though the restaurant itself isn’t very big, the atmosphere is cozy and warm.
The menu is packed with homegrown ingredients from the farm, like fresh eggs and cheese, homemade yogurt and granola, and their famous pancakes smothered with maple syrup.
They even handpick their own raspberries for the waffles and grow their own flowers for the tables.
What’s the one lunch menu item you can’t miss? The tacos. People rave about them for miles around. They're served with homemade guacamole, slaw, and fresh, hand-pressed tortillas.
