With video games now playable everywhere from your television to your smart watch, arcades aren’t as popular as they used to be. That is, unless you’re talking about this awesome vintage arcade and bar in Salem. Bit Bar combines all the fun of an old-school arcade with modern eats and sips. Here’s what you need to know.
Bit Bar is a bar and restaurant with a classic arcade vibe.
Located in a historic former Salem jail, this spot has over 35 vintage arcade games to choose from.
You can grab a bite to eat and sip on your favorite beverage while working your way through classics like Terminator 2: Judgement Day, Centipede, and Donkey Kong.
You can also enjoy Galaga, Ms. Pac-Man, Mortal Kombat II, and Roadblasters.
And there’s no inflation here – games are only 25 cents to play, just like in 1985.
Best of all, the game selection rotates regularly. If you don’t see your favorite, the staff more than likely will slot it in soon.
As for drinks, the menu here is filled with selections from greater Boston’s best craft breweries and distilleries.
You can also expect fun nibbles like Tetris Tots, the Token Salad, and the Basic Bit Burger.
Accompanied gamers of all ages are allowed at Bit Bar before 8 p.m. After 8 p.m., the venue is 21+.
Don’t miss out on this awesome arcade that will have you coming back for round two.
