The Old Line State is full of history. Previously, we featured a historic bar in Baltimore that many people know about, and today, we're highlighting a lesser known bar that may be even older. Head to Annapolis and pair a delicious pub meal with a brew... and maybe a ghost, too.
Reynolds Tavern is an Annapolis gem that doesn't get as much attention as it deserves.
Head to the charming dining room, where you can enjoy tea time...
...with a tower of sandwiches and sweets...
...and of course, an assortment of teas.
Or if you're into history (and beer), head to the attached pub that's full of character.
This spot is in the original kitchen and hat shop of William Reynolds.
In fact, you'll still find the original stairwell from its 1737 construction, as well as other old features that beckon to the 18th century. To put that in perspective, this spot has been around since before Maryland had its statehood granted, in 1788.

Keep your eyes peeled and your spidey senses tingling -- because with historic buildings often comes ghost stories. This place is no exception.
Reynolds Tavern and its 1947 Pub is often a stop along Annapolis ghost tours. It's said that William Reynolds' wife, Mary, haunts the building.
There have been claims of objects moving by themselves, and dishes mysteriously breaking during paranormal investigations. And if you listen very carefully, you may hear Mary singing ghostly Christmas carols.
So much history and stories wrapped up into this one spot. Visit for yourself to soak in the unique atmosphere, and perhaps, meet a ghost.
