1. Smith Island Cake from Smith Island Baking Co., Crisfield
Located in Crisfield, Smith Island Baking Co. makes the classic 10-layer cake Marylanders have come to know and love. If you're unable to take a trip out to Crisfield, this delicious Eastern Shore delicacy can be shipped to your home as well. Pictured above are the original chocolate and caramel cream varieties. There is nothing better than enjoying a sweet treat with state spirit!
2. Peach Dumplings from Baked Dessert Cafe & Gallery, Berlin
Not many people know that peach dumplings are the official dessert of Berlin. That certainly makes them a classic Maryland dessert. And no one does them quite like Baked Dessert Cafe & Gallery. These flaky dumplings are generously drizzled in caramel and taste so perfect, they're often sold out. Arrive early to make sure you get your fill.
3. Snowballs from One Sweet Moment, Baltimore

4. Bergers Cookies from Berger's Bakery, Baltimore
You can find the iconic Bergers cookies from the Lexington Market location, at select local grocery stores, or order them through the main Berger's Cookies website. These sinfully delicious Maryland desserts have a cake-like texture topped with fudgey icing. It's nearly impossible to only eat one.
5. Ice Cream from Dumser's Dairyland, Ocean City
With several locations in Ocean City, Dumser's Dairyland is a favorite summertime treat. This place dates back to 1939, so you know they've had plenty of time to perfect their sweet ice cream.
6. Frozen Custard from Kohr Bros, Ocean City
Some people prefer frozen custard over ice cream and that's when they head to Kohr Bros. This creamy concoction is perfect after spending a day in the hot sun.
7. Rainbow Cake at Piedigrotta Bakery, Baltimore
Editor's Note: Piedigrotta Bakery is permanently closed.
While Piedigrotta Bakery is mostly known for their rich tiramisu, they also have a scrumptious rainbow cake, which is a classic Baltimore dessert. Pair this with an espresso and your afternoon just got a whole lot better.
8. Fastnachts from Krumpe's Donuts, Hagerstown
Once a year, Krumpe's Donuts celebrates Fastnacht Day. And since this heavenly day only comes once a year, people line up around the block - EVEN DURING BLIZZARDS - to get a taste of freshly made, warm fastnachts. Do you have a food bucket list? Put this on it!
9. Old Bay Chocolate Crabs from Sweet Cascades Chocolatier, Ellicott City & Savage
Sweet Cascades Chocolatier has a variety of chocolatey sweets. Nothing compares, however, to their popular Old Bay Crabs. Try them once, and you'll be hooked.
10. Sweet Old Bay Ice Cream from Keyes Creamery, Aberdeen
Speaking of Old Bay desserts, Keyes Creamery has been known to have Sweet Old Bay flavored ice cream from time to time. It doesn't get any more Maryland than that.
