Even though we’re not technically a part of the South, we Washingtonians still enjoy some good old fashioned, traditional Southern food. There’s nothing more satisfying than flavorful fried chicken and a soft flaky biscuit. Which is why Mason Dixie Biscuit Co. should be at the top of your dining bucket list. The Southern style drive thru restaurant serves the best chicken and biscuits in DC!

If you are a fan of Union Market, you have probably heard of Mason Dixie Biscuit Co. before. Jason Gehring, a former pastry chef, has been selling his homemade biscuit at Union Kitchen for years.

And this year he took his signature dish into a full fledged store in Northeast DC. The restaurant boasts a pastel-colored theme and retro design.

Pupusas are a traditional Salvadoran. They are a corn tortilla stuffed with a savory filling. You can find them at one of the many El Salvadoran restaurants in DC.
