1. Old Ebbitt Grill

For 160 years, Washingtonians have been going to the Old Ebbitt Grill for a delicious meal and a good drink. Today, this stylish restaurant is the oldest restaurant in the city and is the best combination of history and fabulous food.

2. Masseria

When you walk through the wooden gate around Masseria, you will feel like you have been transported to a country house in Italy. Dine underneath spectacular twinkle lights on Italian classics in this hidden away restaurant in Eastern Market.

3. Old Angler’s Inn

There are some days you just need to get away from it all. When those days hit, head to Potomac Maryland and enjoy the peace and quiet of the hidden treasure that is Angler’s Inn, a charming restaurant that’s been in the area since the 1800s.

4. minibar

There really is no restaurant in the world like José Andrés’ minibar. It’s part entertainment, part science, part art and completely delicious and fascinating. Enjoy a 26 course meal that includes bizarre and amazing dishes such as Oaxacan Marshmallow and bacon ice cream.

5. Lincoln

Lincoln Restaurant is a quirky and over the top restaurant where the setting is just as incredible as the food. The funky decor includes a floor made of a million pennies and rooms are lit by mason jar lights hanging from the ceiling. When you add in innovative dishes from local sources, it adds up to an amazing dining experience.

6. The Sweet Lobby

While not technically a restaurant, The Sweet Lobby is not to be missed in 2017 if you have a sweet tooth. The macarons here might just be better than the ones you can find in France and the cupcakes are just as delicious!

7. Sequoia

When the weather is warm and you want to enjoy the gorgeous views of the Potomac, there is no better place than Sequoia Restaurant. Their enormous patio is the perfect place to pass a warm summer afternoon, staring out at the water and indulging in world class food and drinks.

8. Thai X-ing

Thai X-ing is just like dining at a good friend’s home. This cozy restaurant serves family style dishes in an intimate setting. You’ll feel like you are in a friendly home in Thailand right in the middle of DC.

9. Le Diplomate

Le Diplomate, or Le Dip as locals call it, is the place you go when you want to seek out Washington elite. It’s a popular spot for members of the Congress and House to dine after work hours or on lunch breaks. And you may be surprised that the best thing on the menu is not a fancy French dish but a good old fashioned American burger.

10. China Boy

You might not want to go into China Boy when you walk by it and notice the small sign in the window but you absolutely should. This unassuming no frills restaurant has absolutely amazing Chinese food.

11. DC Grill Express

There are plenty of amazing Mom and Pop places in DC and DC Grill Express is one of our favorites. They specialize in quality burgers, sandwiches and grill staples with friendly service.

12. POV

You come to POV for the view and stay for the food. Sitting a top the W Hotel, POV is a stylish rooftop lounge that offers you stunning views of some of the most iconic Washington sights while you eat!

13. Toki Underground

There are only 27 stools in Toki Underground, making it one of the best tiny restaurants in the area. This Tawainese Cambodian restaurant serves up incredible noodles and tasty vegetarian dishes.
