There's something about a nice cup of tea that makes us feel fancy and sophisticated. We may not be marrying into the British royal family anytime soon, but there's nothing wrong with an afternoon spent pretending to be the type of person that enjoys tea time every day! If you want to try it out yourself, we recommend this lovely tea room in Maine.
Jacqueline's Tea Room is located just north of the Harraseeket Inn in Freeport.
The special tea haven offers over 90 varieties of loose leaf teas, from white teas, to medium-bodied green teas to robust black teas, from all around the world.
There are a few different ways to enjoy Jacqueline's treats, which are all homemade!
The first, the "cream tea," takes place between 10:30am and 2:30pm and includes a pot of tea and two warm scones with jam, devon cream, and lemon curd.
A real treat is the "Afternoon Tea," which features a four-course meal beginning your first pot of tea, followed by a first course, a savory soup.
Each of the four courses is selected and prepared by Jacqueline, which means you only need to focus on the tea and your conversation.
Afternoon Tea also includes with Devon cream, lemon curd and fruit jam for the homemade scones. You'll also enjoy an assortment of delicate finger sandwiches followed by special desserts.
The gift shop features tons of different types of teas.
You'll also find collectible china tea sets and other teaware and jewelry.
Jacqueline even makes custom gift baskets for just about every occasion!
