Palace Diner in Biddeford is one of Maine's most beloved institutions. Around sine 1927, it was built by the Pollard Company and was moved to Biddeford where it has spent all its life. And, fun fact, it's one of just two Pollard cars in the country!
Today the diner is owned by Greg Mitchell and Chad Conley who reopened it in 2014. It's a thriving part of the southern Maine community and we're lucky to have it. But what's the best part?
It'd be easy to say we love the ambiance. Rustic and old-timey, we love that this place feels like a true old-school diner. But the best thing about any diner is the food and Palace has some of the best.
These things are huge, fluffy and picture-perfect! They're great as a stack on their own or you can add all the breakfast fixings like eggs, sausage and bacon.
When things start to look a little more normal around here, we're hoping they'll get back to their special dinner nights! But until then, rest assured that they're ready to provide you with the best pancake breakfast in the area!

Maine has a fantastic dining scene, with most of it crowded into top cities like Portland, Augusta, and Bangor. I've been to the Pine Tree State many times, and there's one thing I'll never leave without - a traditional lobster dinner. Lobster might as well be the official food of Maine, and there are plenty of spots across the state to get a great one. One of the best has to be Cook's Lobster and Ale House, an old-school seafood joint that looks like it's built into an old lobster pound. Cook's Lobster and Ale House has been an institution on Bailey Island for more than 60 years. This laid-back but classy seafood joint is one of the best spots in the state for a seafood dinner, and during the offseason, the crowds are usually pretty light.

Seafood is the specialty here. Some of the signature items include lobster rolls overflowing with meaty, fried whole-belly clams that are among the best in the state, and a baked stuffed haddock that is perfectly New England.

Why We Love It: It's taken several trips for me to figure out my perfect "weekender bag that's TSA approved," but I've found my perfect carry on with the TOBIQ Colorado 30L.
